Frequently Asked Questions

Does this replace the DS8178 scanner itself?

No, it's a cradle accessory that charges and communicates with the DS8178 or DS4678 for hands-free presentation scanning; the scanner is a separate unit.

How does the cradle communicate with the scanner?

Via Bluetooth radio communication, once the scanner is docked or in range.

For checkout counters looking to speed up scanning without upgrading hardware, this cradle turns an existing DS8178 or DS4678 into a faster, hands-free charging station.
