The Seagate Exos ST24000NM000C is a 24TB SATA hard drive for servers, RAID volumes, and backup systems. It spins at 7200 RPM, carries a 512MB cache, and uses CMR recording. A helium-sealed case holds the platters.
At 24TB per bay, a 12-bay server reaches 288TB of raw space. Moving up from 22TB adds about 9% more room per bay, or 24TB across twelve bays. That density is why drives this size show up in storage racks and big home labs alike.
PowerChoice lets the drive step down its power when idle. PowerBalance trims watts per terabyte under load. The drive reports 512e sectors, so common RAID cards and operating systems accept it. Hot-plug is supported in a backplane.
Six of these drives in RAID 6 give about 96TB usable. That suits a backup server or a media library with room to grow.

Not quite. Seagate's Exos X24 line uses model ST24000NM002H. The NM000C model shows up in Seagate's recertified Exos data sheet. Many listings call it an X24, but the model number is different.
Helium is lighter than air. It lowers drag on the platters, which cuts power draw and heat. It also lets makers fit more platters in the same 3.5-inch case.
CMR. Rewrites stay steady, so it works well in RAID and ZFS pools.
Seagate lists an operating range of 10 to 60°C, as reported by the drive. Keep air moving across the bays and watch the SMART temperature.
Seagate's recertified data sheet carries a FastFormat note for it. The drive comes in 512e, and a FastFormat command switches it to 4Kn. The switch erases all data, so move your files first.
