The Samsung PM893 7.68TB is a SATA solid state drive for servers and storage arrays. It is an enterprise drive in the 2.5-inch, 7 mm size. Samsung builds it with 3-bit V-NAND flash and rates it at 1 drive write per day.
One drive write per day means you can rewrite the whole drive once a day for five years. At this size, that is a lot of data. For most servers, a full rewrite each day is far more than the work they do.

SATA tops out at 6Gb/s, so the numbers are modest. Samsung lists 520 MB/s for reads and 500 MB/s for writes. Small random work reaches 97,000 reads and 26,000 writes per second, using 4 KB blocks. Latency is 120 microseconds for reads and 45 for writes.
A SATA drive is a simple path to flash in older servers. Many bays that took spinning drives take a 2.5-inch SATA drive as well, so you can keep your chassis and move to flash.
The datasheet describes a sudden power off step. The drive uses stored power in its capacitors to write cached data to flash. That keeps the data safe when a server loses power.
Eight drives hold 61.44TB of raw space. The space you can use depends on the RAID level. Add a spare with the same part number to the shelf, so a failed drive is swapped fast.
