The Samsung MultiXpress SCX-6555N (6555N) is a black and white machine that prints, copies and scans on letter, legal and A4 paper. This listing is for a refurbished unit. Samsung launched the model in 2008, so it is an older machine, and its toner is split in two parts.

The toner wears out about three times as fast as the drum. Swap the toner when it runs low, and plan for the drum after about three toner changes.
It prints up to 55 pages a minute on letter paper and 53 on A4. Two-sided printing runs at up to 50 pages a minute on letter. The first page takes less than 8 seconds. Copies run at up to 55 a minute and can be scaled from 25 to 400 percent on the glass. Copy quality is 300 x 300 dpi in black and 200 x 200 in color.
The 100-sheet two-sided feeder scans color in one pass. Optical scan quality is 600 x 600 dpi. Scans can go to email, an FTP site, a network share or a computer. Samsung sells an optional fax kit, the SCX-FAX210.
A 520-sheet cassette and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray hold 620 sheets. Samsung's options raise the total to 3,240 sheets. They include extra cassettes (SCX-S6555A), a high-capacity feeder (SCX-HCF100) and a finisher (SCX-FIN11S). A 500-sheet bin catches pages.
A 7-inch color touchscreen runs the menus. Memory is 256 MB, and an 80 GB hard drive stores jobs. The printer speaks PCL 5e, PCL 6 and PostScript 3. It connects by USB or Ethernet and runs under 55 dBA while printing.
