The Samsung MultiXpress CLX-8380ND (8380ND) is a color laser machine that prints, copies, scans and faxes on letter, legal and A4 paper. It runs at up to 40 pages a minute on letter paper and 38 on A4, in color or black. Here is how a team of ten might use it.
The 100-sheet feeder scans both sides of each page in one pass. Color copies come out at up to 40 a minute.
Two-sided printing is built in and runs at up to 35 pages a minute on letter paper. The first page can be out in 11 seconds in black and 13 in color from standby.
The machine scans over the network. An 80 GB hard drive holds stored documents, and a color screen shows the menus. Fax is built in, so the same machine sends and receives faxes.
A 520-sheet main tray and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray give you 620 sheets. Samsung's add-on trays raise that to 2,720. A 500-sheet bin catches pages face down. The trays take plain, thin, bond, recycled, preprinted and colored paper, plus labels, envelopes and transparencies.
The feeder takes originals up to legal length. The scanner reads color in a single pass, so two-sided originals do not need to be flipped by hand.

Yields assume 5 percent page coverage. Samsung also sells drum units. The CLX-R8380K fits black and the CLX-R8380C fits cyan, and matching units cover the other two colors. The monthly duty cycle is up to 100,000 pages.
