The Samsung M396B4G73DB0-YF8M1 is a 32GB DDR3 memory module for IBM Power 770 and 780 servers. It is a custom 276-pin DIMM, called a CDIMM, and it runs at 1066 MT/s. It does not fit standard Dell, HP, or Lenovo servers.

Both are 32GB IBM Power memory with the same speed code. Only the DRAM die and the package differ. When you replace a module, match the part number on the ones already installed.
IBM's Power 770 and Power 780 servers use 276-pin DDR3 DIMMs, and each DIMM has its own memory buffer. Each processor card has 16 DIMM slots running at 1066 MHz. IBM sold the 32GB size in sets of four: feature 5602 on POWER7 and EM42 on POWER7+. Four modules make 128GB. Sixteen make 512GB.
IBM sells this memory as Capacity Upgrade on Demand, so check your server's activations and IBM's feature list before you plan an upgrade.
Some sellers show 1333MHz, CL9, and 1.5V for this module. Those numbers do not match Samsung's YF8 code or IBM's documents, which both point to 1066MHz. At 1066 MT/s the module moves 8.5 GB/s.
