The Lexmark CX825dtfe (42KT050) is a color laser machine that prints, copies, scans and faxes on letter and legal paper. It prints up to 55 pages a minute in color or black. It comes with extra trays and an inline staple finisher.
Lexmark rates the photoconductor units at up to 175,000 pages and the developer units at up to 300,000 pages. Fewer part swaps means less downtime. The monthly duty cycle is up to 250,000 pages, and the suggested volume is 3,000 to 30,000 pages.
The cartridges in the box are rated at 8,000 pages for black and 17,000 pages for each color. Replacement cartridges are rated at up to 33,000 pages for black and up to 22,000 pages for each color. Those long yields mean fewer stops to change toner.
A 100-sheet multipurpose tray and three 550-sheet trays give 1,750 sheets from the start. Options can raise that to 4,500. A 150-sheet document feeder handles scanning. The inline stapler finishes sets without a trip to the stapler, and a caster base lets you roll the machine into place.
Letter pages print at up to 55 a minute and A4 pages at up to 52. Print quality reaches 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, plus Lexmark's 4800 Color Quality mode, which works at 2,400 x 600 dpi. A quad-core 1.6 GHz processor and 2 GB of memory handle big jobs.
The 10-inch class e-Task touchscreen reads taps from a finger, a nail or a pen. It runs Lexmark's Embedded Solutions Framework, so an admin can add custom apps. A hard disk is included, and the machine wipes it file by file after every print job.
