The Lexmark CS725de (40C9000) is a print-only color laser printer for letter, legal and A4 paper. It prints up to 50 pages a minute in color or black, and two-sided printing runs at up to 40 sides a minute. The first black page can be out in 5.4 seconds.
Lexmark sells this printer's toner in three tiers. Return Program cartridges cost less and go back to Lexmark when empty. Regular cartridges do not.

The box holds four starter cartridges rated at about 7,000 pages each, plus an imaging unit rated at about 150,000 pages.
A 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 550-sheet tray hold 650 sheets. Options can raise that to 2,300 sheets across five trays. A 300-sheet bin catches the pages.
Print quality reaches 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, and Lexmark's 2400 Color Quality mode gives smoother color. An instant warm-up fuser and a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor keep the wait short. Memory starts at 1 GB and grows to 3 GB. A hard disk is an option.
A 4.3-inch e-Task color touchscreen runs the menus. You get USB 2.0, an easy-access USB port and Gigabit Ethernet. The printer speaks PCL 6, PostScript 3 and PDF 1.7, and Apple AirPrint is supported.
Lexmark rates the duty cycle at up to 150,000 pages a month and suggests 2,000 to 20,000 pages. The printer measures 16.4 x 18.7 x 19.65 inches.
