The Kioxia PM6-R 1.92TB is a read intensive SAS solid state drive for servers and storage arrays. It uses the newest SAS link, called 24G SAS. It sits in a 2.5-inch, 15 mm case, which is the usual thick size for server bays. Seller listings place part number SDFUS85DHB02T in the PM6-R family.
SAS is the drive link used in most storage arrays. Each new version doubles the one before it. The 24G version carries about twice the data of 12G. Your controller sets the pace, and the drive steps down to match it.

Kioxia rates the PM6-R at 1 drive write per day. In dual-port mode, reads reach 4,150 MB/s. Small random work reaches 595,000 reads and 125,000 writes per second. These are Kioxia's family figures, so treat them as top ratings.
The drive works on one port or two. Two ports let two controllers reach the same drive, which keeps data online if one path fails. Kioxia also lists power loss protection and end-to-end data protection.
Read intensive drives suit file data, reports, web content and backup targets. If your array writes new data all day, pick a mixed use drive.
Drives in one array should share the same speed, size and use class. Mixing sizes wastes space in many RAID groups, because each drive gives only as much as the smallest one.
