The HP LaserJet M4345 MFP (CB425A) is a black and white office machine that prints, copies and scans in color. HP launched the M4345 line in the 2000s, so it is an older model with a single toner cartridge to keep track of. It handles letter, legal and A4 paper.
It prints up to 45 pages a minute on letter paper and 43 on A4. The first page can be out in under 10 seconds. Print quality reaches 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. The base model prints one side at a time, because automatic two-sided printing is not built in.
Copies run at up to 45 a minute, and copy quality reaches 600 x 600 dpi. A 50-sheet document feeder pulls the pages through. Copies can be scaled up or down, and one job can make many copies.
The 50-sheet feeder scans two-sided pages in full color. A color flatbed handles books and loose sheets. Optical scan quality reaches 600 dpi.
A 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 500-sheet tray hold 600 sheets. The multipurpose tray takes legal paper, envelopes and heavy stock up to 200 gsm. You can add trays 3, 4 and 5, 500 sheets each, for a total of 2,100 sheets. A 500-sheet bin catches the pages.
It uses one black cartridge, the HP 45A (Q5945A), rated at about 18,000 pages. HP's maintenance kit for the 110 V model is the Q5998A, rated at about 225,000 pages.
HP rates the duty cycle at up to 200,000 pages a month and suggests 5,000 to 20,000 pages a month. A 480 MHz processor and 256 MB of memory run the jobs, and one memory slot is free. The machine connects by USB or Fast Ethernet.
