The HP LaserJet Enterprise MFP M631z (J8J65A) is a black and white machine for letter, legal and A4 paper. It prints, copies, scans and faxes at up to 55 pages a minute on letter paper and 52 on A4. It is the M631 model that comes loaded.
The M631h (J8J64A) starts with 650 sheets and no fax, so the z is the one to pick when you want it all in the box.
Two-sided printing runs at up to 43 pages a minute on A4. Copies match the print speed, 55 a minute on letter and 52 on A4. A5 pages fed sideways print faster still. Paper types on HP's list include plain, light, bond, recycled, heavy, cardstock, pre-printed, pre-punched, colored and rough paper, plus labels and envelopes. An optional envelope feeder holds 75 envelopes.
It uses one black cartridge. The HP 37A (CF237A) is rated at about 11,000 pages. The HP 37X (CF237X) is rated at about 25,000 pages. HP's Managed cartridge, the CF237YC, is rated at about 41,000 pages.
HP rates the duty cycle at up to 300,000 pages a month and suggests 5,000 to 30,000 pages. The machine has a color touchscreen and connects by USB or Gigabit Ethernet. HP lists a wheeled stand for the series, and the z already has its own stand with the extra trays. HP says the line supports up to six input trays.
