The cartridges in the box match the standard sizes.
It prints and copies at up to 50 pages a minute on letter paper and 47 on A4, in color or black. Two-sided printing is automatic. The first page can be out in 6.4 seconds on letter paper.
A 150-sheet feeder scans both sides in one pass. The 8-inch color touchscreen shows a preview before you send a scan. Scans can go to email, a network folder or a USB drive. Copies run at up to 50 a minute, and one job can make up to 9,999 copies.
A 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 550-sheet tray hold 650 sheets. HP's options include more 550-sheet feeders, a 3-tray stand and a 2,000-sheet tray. A 500-sheet bin catches the pages.
A 1.2 GHz processor and 1.5 GB of memory run the jobs. A 500 GB hard drive with AES 256 encryption stores them. HP rates the duty cycle at up to 100,000 pages a month. You get Gigabit Ethernet and USB. The #BGJ ending marks the U.S. version.
