The HP Color LaserJet 5550n (Q3714A) is an older print-only color laser printer for wide paper. It prints on sheets up to 12 x 18.5 inches. Color and black run at the same speed, so a color page costs no extra time.

The first page can be out in under 16 seconds. Print quality is 600 x 600 dpi, and HP's ImageREt 3600 technology sharpens color.
A 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 500-sheet tray hold 600 sheets. Up to three more 500-sheet trays can raise that to 2,100 sheets. Media weights run from 16 to 53 lb. Pages land in a 250-sheet bin. The n model has no built-in two-sided unit, and HP's dn model adds one.

HP's image transfer kit, C9734B, is rated at about 120,000 pages.
It handles letter, legal, tabloid and executive sheets, plus custom sizes up to 12 x 18.5 inches. Supported media include plain, heavy, glossy and recycled paper, cardstock, labels, envelopes and transparencies. The multipurpose tray takes up to 20 envelopes.
It connects by parallel cable, USB or 10/100 Ethernet. This is a model from the mid 2000s, so check that a driver exists for your computer before you rely on it.
The printer measures 22.7 x 27.7 x 25.2 inches and weighs 114 pounds, so measure your space first. A 533 MHz processor and 160 MB of memory run the jobs.
