Its read-intensive designation makes the intended workload worth checking before replacing a drive or expanding capacity. A bay of the correct physical size is not enough: confirm that the backplane and host support U.2 NVMe rather than only SATA or SAS drives.
Add substantial storage to a qualified Dell system whose access pattern is suited to a read-intensive drive.
Verify the server's approved-drive list, U.2 NVMe backplane, firmware, bay design, and required carrier.
