The Dell 04NMJF is a 3.84TB SAS solid state drive for Dell Compellent storage arrays. It runs on a 12Gb/s link and is a read intensive drive. It is a hot swap 2.5-inch drive and comes with a tray, so it slides into a Compellent enclosure.
Seller listings show this drive under more than one number. They list 400-AJDE and 400-AJDZ next to 04NMJF, and some write the same drive as 4NMJF. Dell uses these numbers for the drive kit. Quote the full Dell number when you match a spare.
Seller listings name the Compellent SC120, SC220, SC4020, SC7020, SCv2000, SCv2020, SCv2080 and SCv3020. A few also name the SC100, SC180, SC200 and SC280. The lists differ, so check your array and software level first.
Hot swap means you can pull or insert the drive while the array runs. The tray makes the move easy and keeps the drive steady in the bay. Wait for the array to show the new drive as ready before you touch the next one.
Listings show the drive with 512 and 512e sector formats. Most arrays handle this on their own. Still, keep drives in one tier on the same format to avoid odd results.
