Dell part R20GG is an 18TB SAS hard drive for PowerEdge servers. It spins at 7200 RPM, carries a 512MB cache, and links at 12Gb/s. Dell prints the number as 0R20GG on many labels. It is the same part.
Parts sellers cross-reference the R20GG to the WD Ultrastar DC HC550 18TB SAS drive, WD model WUH721818AL5200. WD's model key explains the ending. The 52 means 512e SAS at 12Gb/s. The final 0 means Instant Secure Erase.

The HC550 packs nine helium-sealed disks into one case. It was the first drive with energy-assisted recording and a triple-stage actuator.
Parts sellers list the R20GG for 13th, 14th, and 15th generation PowerEdge servers, such as the R730, R740, and R750, and for PowerVault shelves like the MD1400. Check Dell's drive list for your model first.
The drive is 3.5-inch and SAS. It needs a SAS backplane and a PERC or HBA card. Four drives in RAID 5 give about 54TB usable. Eight bays hold 144TB raw. Twelve bays hold 216TB raw, and RAID 6 leaves about 180TB usable. A full pass over 18TB at 269 MB/s takes about 19 hours.
The 512e format shows 512-byte sectors to the host and keeps 4K sectors inside. Current PERC cards and operating systems handle that fine. Instant Secure Erase wipes the drive in seconds, so you can retire it without a long overwrite.
