The Cisco Unified IP Phone 7960G (CP-7960G) is an older six-line desk phone. Cisco aimed it at managers and executives. It has a large pixel-based screen, a speakerphone and a built-in headset port.

Both have six line keys and a two-port Ethernet switch.
Six programmable line and feature buttons sit beside the screen. Four dynamic soft keys guide users through calls and features. A Messages key opens voicemail. The screen shows the date, time, caller name and number, and digits dialed. It can also show XML content.
The phone is multi-protocol. It supports Cisco SCCP, SIP and MGCP, depending on the firmware you load. Cisco's own call system uses SCCP.
A built-in two-port switch links the phone and a computer to one 10/100 wall jack. An admin can place the phone and the computer on separate VLANs. The phone takes its address by DHCP or by hand, and it also uses BootP and TFTP for setup.
The phone takes Cisco pre-standard inline power and IEEE 802.3af PoE. A 48 V power injector or Cisco's local power supply is the option when a desk has no PoE.
A full-duplex speakerphone and a headset port are built in. The phone supports G.711 and G.729a. It can add a third person to a call, for a conference of up to three.
The base is adjustable, and the phone can hang on a wall. Users can change the display contrast. Abbreviated dialing and a message waiting light are built in.
It works with Cisco's call manager and with other call systems that support SCCP, SIP or MGCP. Ask your provider which firmware and license it needs.
