The Cisco Unified IP Phone 7961G (CP-7961G) is an older six-line desk phone. Cisco calls it an enhanced manager phone. It is preloaded with SCCP for Cisco CallManager, and it can run SIP or MGCP firmware too.

Six lighted line and feature keys sit beside a large pixel-based screen. Four dynamic soft keys guide users through calls and features. A Messages key opens voicemail. The screen shows the date and time, the caller name and number, and digits dialed.
The phone supports up to two Cisco 7914 expansion modules for more directory numbers or speed dials.
A full-duplex speakerphone with a mute key and a headset port are built in. The phone supports G.711 and G.729a, with comfort noise and voice activity detection. More than 24 ring tones and several background images are on the menu.
A built-in two-port switch links the phone and a computer to one 10/100 wall jack. The Gigabit version is the CP-7961G-GE, so this phone does not have gigabit ports. An admin can place the phone and the computer on separate VLANs. The phone gets its address by DHCP or by hand.
Users can change ring tones, background images and the display contrast. Menus also cover network, device and security setup.
You get the phone with a handset and handset cord. A power supply is sold separately.
The foot stand adjusts from flat to 60 degrees, so you can find the best viewing angle. The phone can hang on a wall. It can be set up by DHCP, TFTP or its call manager, and its firmware can be upgraded.
